Unlike some binding processes that require sewing the pages into the spine of the book, perfect binding requires no sewing at all. Instead, a water-resistant adhesive is used to hold the pages in place by attaching them to the cover of the document. Perfect binding is the most durable way to produce a book. This binding does not include any stitches, but a exclusively cement based binding, the other three sides of the book are then trimmed as needed to give them clean "perfect" edges. Perfect binding has many names such as adhesive binding, unsewn binding, as well as paperback books. Single leaves are jogged to form a straight block, and the spine edge is glued with a hot glue instantly inside a card cover in which the spine is printable and square.
